Reel Creative Charity

Reel Creative is A digital training hub for people of all backgrounds, aiming to inspire learners to unleash their creativity and develop skills to thrive in the digital world. Workshops ignite imagination, build confidence, and help participants acquire new, essential skills. The platform provides access to professional-grade equipment, opening doors for those who might not have had such opportunities before.

At HelloU, we’re passionate about bridging the gap between education and creative potential. Our partnership with Reel Creative enables individuals to explore the world of digital skills, including video production, filmmaking, animation, and graphics. Whether you're behind the scenes or in front of the camera, you’ll have hands-on access to fully equipped film studios, creating everything from YouTube content to real-life film projects. Crew members gain invaluable experience, exploring different film set roles while developing their own creative ideas.

Together, we're empowering individuals to boost their skills and build confidence, preparing them for the future of digital creativity.

Rooted in Hull

Rooted in Hull is a community-focused initiative that fosters connections and personal growth. At the heart of the project is an urban farm on St Peter’s Street, where local residents come together to engage with nature, learn sustainable practices, and strengthen community ties. The farm is a space for collaboration and growth, offering opportunities for individuals to connect with each other and the land.

HelloU Creative has been involved in a variety of creative initiatives, supporting the community through art and creative projects that encourage personal reflection and expression. The initiatives brought people together, to explore their connections to Hull and their own stories in creative ways.

HelloU Key Rooted Projects

Human Sundial: As part of this project, HelloU Creative helped bring the community together by inviting individuals to contribute decorated stones, each symbolizing personal growth and the passage of time. These stones come together to form a sundial, representing the collective experiences of the community.
Roots String Art Mural: HelloU Creative facilitated this interactive art project where young people explored the question, “Where are your roots?” Using string art, participants created visual connections to Hull by linking their personal stories to the city’s maritime history. The mural served as a dynamic, evolving piece of artwork, with each string representing a unique story, bringing together past, present, and future.

This creative initiative was made possible thanks to funding from the Creative Communities Initiative in partnership with Hull Maritime. The project allowed young people to express their identity and connections to the city in a collaborative, artistic way, transforming the mural into a shared vision of creativity and community spirit.
